I have Decap Brine Shrimp eggs...

    R95/25g bottle

Decap BSE is fed directly to fish and fry - no hatching no mess no fuss!

and it has a higher engery content that hatched BS.

Would it not just be easier for you to go pick it up from Ahmed Irma?

You'll be amazed at how much us joburgers hate travelling... and you guys don't realise the size of joberg. We had a family member once ask us to pick up a parcel they had sent for us... it was "just around the corner". When we finally got the address... we found out it was SPRINGS! (For you uneducated non-jozi people.... that's a 2 hour trip for a person in the west of jhb)

But Midrand to Dolphin on the N1/M1 will take about 25 mins! (Assuming you get it on a good day) It might take 30 mins to actually get ONTO the N1 in midrand. Potholes, roadworks and traffic lights out makes Midrand a nightmare next to hell.

Thats why I do not like that place, I think the devil may actually be living there somwhere. I travel for hours everyday so 20min seems like nothing, but for some reason I also hate just going to the shops to get something, weird. Yes us non-Jozi guys do not always understnad your travel problems. Hopefully we would never have too.

A 70minute drive to work in the morning is 100% normal to my wife! I take 30mins to get to work, and 15mins home from the office in the afternoons. Some people complain if they have to drive just 10 minutes.

During the course of a 9 hour work day, I will drive anything between 3 and 5 hours a day, generally only covering a distance of 100km. You do the maths.

    Hi Guys,

And Dolphin you are going to have to forgive me for this. You cannot use decap brine shrimp eggs to replace freshly hatched brine shrimps. The decap eggs don't move around and as a result the fry are not interested in them. I regularly used freshly hatched bs and I have also used decap eggs and they do not work for dwarf cichlids and also not for other egg layes such as tetras, rainbows, etc. The fry need to be tempted by the movement of the live bs and are not interested in the dead decaps.

    My apologies Dolphin.

    Kind regards,

    Dirk

no apologies needed, I'm familiar with the fry/fish need to catch moving feed issue and circumvent it by using a bright spot light when feeding which is a bigger feeding stimulant IMO... thus far it seems fine and the fry seem to be growing...the value in decap is the higher energy content as compared to live bs which use this energy reserve once hatched as well as the fact that you dont need to worry about low hatch rates or the shells becoming lodged in the fishes digestive tract resulting in fry/fish loss...
