This has been a long time in the making, thanks largely to a dodgy builder. We made some alterations to our house a year back. Part of the addition was a new double garage which backs onto the new lounge. In the wall separating the two, the builder created a space for my existing 2m x 700h tank to fit into. This left the tank flush with the lounge wall, resting on a concrete stand in the garage from where all maintenance is done. The sump was plumbed below the tank with the front of the tank framed in 4mm ply wood in the lounge. The tank cycled with some cories for a few weeks. These cories were then removed and a shoal of 25 sterbae added, followed by some beautiful rams from Joe, and then eventually the wild discus that I had in my fish room, a total of 15 of them, heckels, greens and blues. Difficult to capture fully, but here goes:

    Stunning.
Wild-type Discus always look great in a setting as close to natural as possible.
Lots of wood/roots,only a few plants or none at all.
You could also ad some Blackwater extract to stain the water, but as it is,it looks great.
