Only a year and a half ago I decided to revisit a hobby I thought I knew a lot about, fish keeping. From one aquarium to two, then three and so forth unit I had 9 aquaria all running individually (a wiring nightmare!)
Thanks to internet and forums like these, I’ve reached a destination...In the process, some fish did die, some from ignorance, from illness and jumping out. All were hard lessons to learn. On the bright side, the stock I currently own are in good health and hands!
Currently, my setup is as follows: I have 3 x 80l holding drums for RO water. These are heated and aerated. I have scaled down on the number of tanks, but manage a total of 870l of water.
    From top to bottom:

    2m (360l) African: 6 x African Butterflies, 5 x Elephant Nose Dolphin Fish, 6 x Congo Tetras, 7 x Kribensis.
[IMG]Note about African Butterflies: They have fine fin endings on the pectoral fins which they use as feelers on the water surface to detect vibrations from potential prey.
    1.2m (220l) Community : 2 x Golden Gouramis, 2 x Three Spot Gouramis, 2 x Dwarf Gouramis, 3 x Angels, 6 x Neons, 6 x Black Neons, 5 x Striped Danios, 4 x Tiger Barbs, 6 x Ottos, 7 x Horseface Loaches, 2 x Khuli Loaches, 2 x Bronze Cory, 1 x Peacock Spinney Eel.

    1.2m (240l) South American: 5 x Discus, 6 x Cardinal Tetras, 2 x Bolivian Rams.

    50l Quarantine.
The above classifications are for the fish only; I have yet to sort the flora.
Missions for 2010 include a larger RO water plant and learning more about aquatic plants.

Those African butterflies are stunning :) Are they hard to look after?
