Well, this is what I have at the moment, well..., nothing really.

I have the equipment sorted, will do some gravel-scaping so to speak.
    Will update soon.

Planned so far, I want a planted tank, just busy checking out the local petshops in PE. Looking for easily sustainable plants. Any suggestions would be very helpful.

LoL - a clean slate :) It'll be interesting to see how this tank develops....keep adding progress pics.

What fish you planning on keeping in there?

Whoops, forgot to bring my camera to work.:wondering:
Well, to be quite honest, I'd love to keep a species tank, say, neons or something in the like. I'm trying to break away from the Community tank buzz.
The only problem is that I can feel the MTS building inside me.

You'll get very bored of just neons in a tank. Maybe a bunch of different Tetras like Cardinals, nummy noses, pencil fish and some glow lights. That would look really nice. Then try compliment the fish colours with plant colours. Get different shades of green and red plants.

Then upgrade your lighting, invest in Co2 and then buy more, bigger tanks!! LOL!!

It's a never ending, downward spiral.

Thanks for the advice, will try that. I'm just weary of some types of tetra.
In my previous tank I had Red-Eye Tetras, they just loved plants, ohhh nom nom nom.

I'm not a fan of the red eyes. That's why I never suggested them, but those others that I posted will do well in that size tank.

Okie dokie, I finally got some water in the tank last night. Everything went smooth, I'm just not happy with the gravel layout yet...
Will tweak it a bit more.
The only problem is that I bought a blue light instead of the daylight one. :push:

Oh well, will sort that out this weekend.
    On with the pics:

We can relate to the incorrect globe - we wanted a red one and although the packaging said it was red, it was actually green (and I mean GREEN) :D:D

I know what you mean. The worst part is that I already chucked the packaging, so I cant even exchange it. O well, I think its a good time to upgrade to a dual T5 ballast anyway. Maybe I should keep the blue one for the moonlight bulb? Any suggestions?

Can't you just use a combination of colours in your lighting? The plants definitely won't mind the extra light output, and the blue light will make a lot of your fish look brighter.

As for the types of plants, I've had great success with Hygrophyllia Polysperma, it just grows like a beast in my tank and looks really nice. And Brazillian Microswords make for a perfect short plant that doesn't need any attention.

I learnt the hard way to stay away from Cabomba though, it grew like mad for the first few months, then started to make a mess of my tank, like it was melting or something, so I pulled it all out and put in more microswords :)
