So I got a new tank, as my discus tank is bare bottom, (quarantine ends today, six weeks later) but they still have some more growing to do, so I had to get another tank as I wanted to try my hand at a planted tank, so after much research and some advice from @Altum, I started the tank 10 days ago & finished off the tank today. Here are some pics... I'm hoping to put 3 Ancistrus in it during next week and maybe some other fish at a later date. When some of my larger discus have grown a bit more, maybe move them over too.

Thanks @FishLover, I'd like to add more plants, there just doesn't seem to be much variety around. I will see how it goes with this lot & take it from there!

@Macmish,you'll have to travel around a bit more dude.A huge shipment of plants arived in Cape Town last week.

Some advice,I see some mondo grass, dark green grass like plant, although sold as a aquarium plant,it won't survive and is best planted in the garden or paludarium.
It looks like some of your Anubia is planted in the substrate, unfortunatly they don't like this and the rizomes tend to rot when it is completely coverd with gravel or soil.Rather tie them to driftwood with some cotton.
Then it seems you have Cryptocoryne stuck in a hole in the driftwood, rather plant those in the place of the Anubia.

    What substrate do you use?

Thanks for the advice @Rudi, I thought the Cryptocoryne was Java Fern, the book I have says it should be attached to driftwood, & I obviously got confused with the Anubia, information overload me thinks... Do I feel a right nana, thanks shall sort it out right now. I don't remember the name of the substrate, got it from @Altum. I will ask.
