So I managed to trim the moss down to about 20mm and it actually looks better.
Note to self: Switch off the powerhead first and trim while vacuuming, or else!

I need some suggestions regarding the stocking of this tank. I've got 4 croaking/sparkling gourami's that tend to hide in between the rocks all the time and the tank looks empty as a result.

Small school of threadfin Rainbows...that is what I would do - With their habit of swimming round mid to top water, they might even give the little gouramis a bit of guts to come out...

Btw - know what that feels like, scaping a whole tank, getting the plants to grow and not seeing the fish...lol - my reophile tank has like 25 fish in it and the ONLY one you see all the time is a Female Endler cruising round....lol - the joys of keeping shy fish....he,he

@azurekoi, the threadfins aren't jumpers are they? This is an open top tank.

@boebie....Hmmnn mine have never jumped when I had some...but my tank was always covered.... Dont think they have a reputation as jumpers...rainbowfish in general arnt jumpy fish,so think you should be o.k with them....Anybody else experience them differently(jumpy)?

Not yet....but will be able to give feedback in a short while:bigsmile:

What I have read does not show them having "jump tendancies" (Spelling?)

Been reading up a lot on Rainbows

Thanks guys, the threadfins do look interesting. @Newby I'll wait for your feedback, don't want to find fish biltong on the floor.

What is currently the best place to get Rainbows? Because I haven't seen them anywhere, but then I suppose I haven't really been looking.

Depends which ones you looking for...

Boesemani's I find in many shops...the smaller ones is more difficult.

Been in discussion with Altum and he can assist in getting the ones I am looking for..

Seen, and booked some at Pet Stop the other day...hopefully still there come payday:huh:

I think I'd be looking for the smaller, more colourful ones.
Too bad payday is only the 28th for me, so no fish shopping this weekend :(

    Same here...

If you interested in the smaller ones we can talk to Altum..

    Pseudomugil signifer - still looking

Pseudomugil gertudae - will get them soon hopefully

Pseudomugil furcatus - Altum bringing in some for me and he will have some left over...he needs to order 100, I take 25. He ships them to me and if you want some we could split the cost here

Oh wow, the Gertudae look like Knight Gobies, and I love Knight Gobies!
First prize would still be some nano rasboras though ;)

And back on topic, is there an updated pic of the Java Fern Nano?
I just went back a few pages to remind myself of how good it looks, it's definitely time for an update!

Where did you get that sort of mesh?
And how do you get the moss growing?

@trik107 I got the mesh at Stodels. Lay the moss thinly without any gaps, then cover with another piece of mesh. It's that simple.
