My new guppy tank

My new guppy tank. There are currently about 50 guppies in it. fry and adults. oh and 2 plecos

Where did you get that beautiful dark blue male guppy near the middle of the tank in the first pic? A stunning guppy! Dolphin is helping me to bring in some really nice show guppies that I'm going to breed.

 

I know ive got 3 bigger ones in my other tank. but im saving up for a big tank. Maybe even building my own stand (nice one i hope)

I got him from my local pet shop in PTA. close to Garsfontein. got 2 blue ones and 2 orange ones and 2 females. They are breeding like rabbits lol. but all the male offspring are becoming orange with a purple neon like body. as you can see in the second photo at the bottom

 

looking good, I would add lots and lots of cabomba or similar bushy plants as hiding places for the fry and for the females...

that blue looks like a Moscow blue (from the tail color) thats been crossed or hasnt bred true

Not 100% but the big plant close to the filter could be Echinodorus species possibly Echinodorus Amazonicus? The others I cant tell with these pics...

 

Franna i would recommend you do research on guppy genetics its really fascinating and tricky and random!

guppy genetics are random if i look at mine the males are all going red tailed and the females are all green or colourless until the light hits them just right then they turn a pale metallic blue. i love my guppies they in a tank right near my bed so i can watch them while i fall asleep, which i should bedoing soon now 5am start again tomorrow. love the tank i would love a big guppy tank mines only a 40litre

 

Thats one of the males i want,really a nice blue male. Your the first i see with a male like that,all the other blue males are like oversee,would really like to buy a male like that
