    Hi all

Thought I would show the progression of my tank. The malawis all come from my 3 foot. There are 15 - all mbunas. I still have some smaller ones in the 3 foot.

    Well here goes.

Looking good Helene! Still got some of that nice rock left? May be build a pinnacle on the right side as a bit of a focal point...

Nice fish, love the ob fueleborni. Remember those fish love to dig so ensure your rocks are on the base of the tank and not on the gravel.

@azurekoi - unfortunately I do not have any more but can always re-arrange things. Thanks
@slayer - I know they love to dig. I had them in a 90cm tank before and they made mountains out of the substrate . I didn't make this substrate as thick as my other tank. They are on the gravel but have dug them in...

Looking good! I like the substrate... & the fish are beautiful!

I also agree with Azure, a focal point would be good.

I am also thinking of setting up an 4 foot malawi tank. I just LOVE your tank. But can't you get like 30 fish in that tank? I heard they like to dig should I worry about that? I am thinking of getting an internal power filter and a JEBO filter floss filter thing(not sure name). Is that enough filteration? @Rookie why not add some more rocks . Sorry for hi-jacking thread.

    Regards trik

@trik107 - no problems about hijacking the thread ... I have from someone in the know that I should be able to get at leat 30 in the tank. I have 15 in there at the moment and about 10 smaller ones in my 90cm tank. If I had more of the same rocks I would.
You would have to ask the pros about enough filtration - i have been curious about how to know what is enough.

    Cheers
    Helene

@Rookie apparently nothing is enough with these fishes! How are your fish have you had any spawns? Any breeding advice?

I do not have any breeding advice as none of mine have bred yet.

    @Rookie - Very nice.
One thing I would advise is adding some sort of plain/tasteful backround. 2 reasons. Firstly it will look a bit nicer than the wall behind the tank...in my opinion.
And also it will give your fish a better sense of security.

@Reedfish - I must admit I do like the wooden wall behind the tank. Considering they came from a 90cm tank that was open on both sides (one lounge, one entrance hall), I would believe that this would give them more security than they had? :)

As i said, just my opinion.

When I had Malawis, I had rocks along the back, and down one side of the tank. They much prefered to go into the rocks at the back where there was a backing. It probably makes it much darker and gives a better sense of safety.
