    Hi all
After toooo long a wait the new AQ is up:bigsmile:, but sadly not finished:mad:.
The stand still has to get doors and it seems my floor is uneven. The tank tilts about 1cm to the front left, looks weird specially when not completely full. So as soon as the weather improoves i will siphon the water up into the bath tub outside take it of the stand& see if some polystirene will do the trick. At that stage i also wonna bring some more rivier sand into the right side of the AQ. I fear for the clay its too late if i don't wonna have for a week or two milky pea soup.
The hood needs still the lights to be fitted and i have to either build a new sump or modify the old one( only +/-20L)
Also still looking for some more ground cover and something fine and red for the back.
At least i got 20 Black Neons today:bigsmile: but i think it can do with another 20.
Would like to get some P. scalare, hi Vee,:wavey: and a nice but affordable group of L cat fish.
And here a pic of the new AQ, don't wonna over-plant it this time.
    So, suggestions, tips, critic, welcome

Tanks looks great .. would be worried about the un-evenness of the floor.

With a 1cm tilt i don't think polystyrene is going to fix it you might have to get a peace of metal or wood and prop that leg of the stand up.

Looking very good Guido. I agree with Donny, under weight the polystyrene will just compress and you will be back at square 1, metal or wood would probably be the best solution. I bought some background from the LFS and it is reversable, rocks on one side and plants on the other side, I used the rock side as I'm running a malawi tank and it goes better with the theme of my tank, for yours you would probably want the planted side, it looks really great, I paid just over R90 for 1.8 meters, I priced the 3D background that mounts inside the tank and it was just ofer R600 a piece! I think I would have needed 3 pieces!! So that was out of the question, I'm happy with mine and it looks very good. I'm in the same boat with regards to completing the stand, payday cant come quick enough!! So far looking very nice Guido.

    Hi all
thanks for the tips. At least got the hood done today,1/2 way :smile1: I used a standart plastic hood and lined it out with a reflective plastic foil, glued on with double sided tape. So far 4 energy saver bulbs osram cool white 1400 Lm 4600K. They had the highest Lm/w =61. Sadly couldn't find the ones, I think it was slayer, mentioned. I will ad, as soon as i swopped the fitting, a 38w plant tube.
The leveling has to wait till weather improoves. Was just about to drag the bathtub infront of the window when floodgates of heaven opened and I was soaking wet before I was inside the house again. It filled the tub by about 5cm within 10 min.
    Will keep you posted

    Hi all
Got to do something on the tank again.
Added another 15L of corse gravel into the one side of the tank and another root i found in one of the local streams. Tank is getting full again, i think I'll need a bigger one soon, again:bigsmile:
The gravel is amaising from a camourflage point of view. The eel nearly melts away on it. As soon as the ugly inside filter is gone i will play around with the landscape a bit more.
    Here a pic for now.
    Comments always welcome:noworry:
and sorry for the quality, still using my child's camera

Do you have beunos aires tetras in there? Careful, they do like to munch some plants. I'm sure you know that though..

    Hi Gaawie
Sorry not to sure with the englich name I think it is a columbian blue but here a pic. If you mean this fish one of my all time favourit. Never aggressive towards others, a bit bigger than a R5 piece, quiet schooling fish and doesn't eat plants.
Wonna get actually another 10 or 15 of the guys with some P. scalare from Vee.
