Thanks all yes the fish look just absolutely awesome in my tank. I don't know why I didn't decide on angels much sooner!

@ Prof Dirk - yes I am very happy with the plants. I have moved some of the smaller plants I got from you originally into another 3ft tank which was the home of my wife's guppys and I finally convinved her to throw out the plastic and let me plant it. I then added the plants you sent to me last (Ammannia, etc.) and I also upgraded the lights. I don't think the light is extremely high, but the Ammannia's new growth is a nice bright pink which is what it should be like when light conditions are good. I also found the C. Cornuta i now growing like crazy - so I think I'd be supplying the rest of the PE hobbyists on this forum with Cornuta!

I would be interested in experimenting with the new batch of the fertilizer. Just let me know when you are ready to make arrangements. To be really honest, I don't have that much algae, but any little bit is just irritating and I want to get rid of it before it becomes a problem. I am also keen to find the root cause, as there must be a reason for its appearance.

    Regards
    L

    Update to post #56:

Cyano stopped pearling and looking a little less. But I decided this is a poor experiment. Conditions in that tank are not conducive to cyano growing and trying to spread, so it may just die back for those reasons and not because of EM. I need to rethink this...

    Notice: Cuttings available

Hi all in the PE area

I just trimmed Limnophila Sessiliflora. I will keep it in a bucket under water for a few days. If you want any, send me a PM and then you can come collect.

I also have plenty of Ceratopteris Cornuta to give away for anybody that wants. When I did my rescape they were in poor shape due to my gouramis destroying them to build bubble nests. I have since given the gouramis away. I started the rescape with 6 little pieces like this, no more than 5cm high:

    Two months later:

The longest leaf is now almost at the surface (about 45cm)!

So PM me if you are in the area and you are interested.

    Regards
    Laué

I've been trying to get some better quality pictures...hopefully I get it right soon!

I may take some tonight after WC and I wiped the GSA

In some other breaking news, the cardinals have gone into hiding. 8 big fish arrived and they are now beyond frightened... :wondering:

    Hi all

As promised, an update. The angels have settled in really nicely and are being typical angels and eating anything like pigs. I currently feed exclusively food bought from Prof Dirk. In the mornings my fish get a 50/50 combination of GS3 and spirulina flakes. In the afternoons they get SV2000 and in the evenings before lights out they get frozen brine shrimp 3x per week, white worm 2x per week and bloodworm 2x per week.

    Here are some pictures:

Now looking at the pics again, it does appear my photographic skills have not yet improved.

what are you shootin with?>phone/cam sony/samsung/etc etc
One trick is to get the white balance in right - fluorescent works best mostly, scroll through and check which compensation fits reality best
Also, try the lens at different angles, digicams sometimes overexpose in light, or overcompensate and make the pic too dark, detail gets lost...

On a more topic related note, that tank looks awesome, (assuming the supergreen look is not the cam's fiddling filters) what type of lighting are you using? looks like a blue fluorescent up there?

Good work, looks inspiring already, keep up the good work :D:D:D

Tank looks awesome Laure. How do you get your plants looking so good. Won't you come and plant my tank. Just when I think mine is looking better I see yours and realize it's not.

Sony Cybershot. The first 3MP camera in this country. So it's about 10 years old! But it works for me - just point and shoot. Obviously not the right camera for more complex pictures.

Just check back to the first post for my lights. No blue lights...
