My little experiment

Okay so i have allot of clippings going to waste so I tried something
A 30L little tank that gets about 5hours sun each day in the afternoon
and a tupperware bucket i tried a little emmersed setup also

okay so the plants isnt very healthy now just planted them. added a bit of ferts but not even half dosage.
now for the wait to see what happens. going to do 2x50% wc weekly

yep been there for 2months almost, its sort of pfp. my own mix i always use

 

Are these tubs newly planted or been running for awhile?

 

been running for month and half. and i sold quite a few already out of the tubs when they get to0 over grown

 

Are you using your special potting soil mix?

What is the lighting, watering, size of containers, are they airtight, ferts? etc etc. i think I need to do this with a lot of the plants in my tank to create space.

 

they have a 10cm diameter so its quite big. i use normal pottingsoil. lights is indirect sunlight, gets sprayed twice a week with tank water. (mist) just make sure the soil stays moist. no ferts. has 2 little air holes at top made with tooth pick

 

Thanks Ryno :top:. I will visit Plastics for some tubs and try this with my cuttings first before I start hauling plants out.

 

i got mine at a party store hehe cost me R5 per tub and they are quite big

 

They do look a lot bigger than 10cm diameter. What is the height of the tubs?

 

15cm-20cm

I just thought of something else. I take it these plants take strain/stress initially until they adjust to growing out of water and again when they are put back into water?

 

they lose their leafs when the transform from submerged to immersed visa versa
