I took my clipping tank and made home for my new guppies.

    I changed this.
    IMG_20161017_170211.jpg
    Into this.

    IMG_20161029_152015.jpg

I used solar garden lights for night time viewing.
    IMG_20161029_134310.jpg
    I got 3 males.

    Blue
    IMG_20161029_154018.jpg
    Orange.
    IMG_20161029_154116.jpg
and one thats got orange and yellow.
    IMG_20161029_134440.jpg

I also got 6 females. I really like how it turned out. Lots of algae scrubbing waiting for me with all this sun light.

I also made a little water feature.

    Hope you like it.

Stunning looking fish, love the look in the tank .. very natural.

You might want to make sure that those stones are not up against the tank, we have seen members loose tanks because of extra pressure caused by hard scape pressing against panels so always a good idea to try and a voide that is you not 100% sure the glass will hold. How much sunlight you getting into the tank?

The rocks are stacked in away to avoid leaning against the panel, it does touch here and there but not using the glass as support. The tank is only slightly above half full so not getting full water pressure. I should be fine touch wood.

I open the the curtains at around 16:00 when I get home from work (start work at 6:00 so no, not so lucky haha). The sun sets here at around 19:00. So for now only 3 hours worth. It gets direct light for an hour and a half. Highest temp in the tank today was 27c so thats fine also.

I set the heater to 25c but will take it out as soon as I get a feel for the tank and its temps. Can't wait for night now haha, I want to see it with the leds so bad....

Awesome job, don't worry to much about the algea scrubbing the guppies enjoy a green salad now and then if you don't mind the algae they won't either, otherwise just buy a pice of vinyl for the window side or cheap out and paint a piece of cardboard.
    Whatever happens enjoy the journey.

    That looks good.
I am considering starting a new guppy tank as well.
After having Guppies for almost 20 years to suddenly have none has been a bit of a shock to the system.

I like the substrate, is that silica or some sort of fine crush?

Its a mix of all the left overs I had. Brown and white gravel, fine black sand, white sand and a yellowish sand.

Yeap - always helps when you keep past hardscape and substrate, never know when MTS bites in the middle of the night.

It bit again... I got two small tanks for selective breeding and placed them under the main tank.

My guppies had puppies. Hard to count as the as inbetween the rocks. I separated a male and female now to see what happens.
