Ok so this is the third time that this pair of gold angels of mine have spawned. The first time she laid eggs, her partner fertilized them. And then as soon as the lights went out, my striped angels(Peruvian angels) came and ate the eggs. So the eggs didn't even last a day! Same thing happened the second time round, only the eggs were eaten with the lights on and I didn't even see them it happened so fast. Don't know who the culprit was that time! However this time, the third time, hopefully the lucky time, the eggs will make it past the 'egg' stage to fries!
I'm keeping my fingers crossed, since I was supposed to take that pair out of the tank and put them in a separate on their own where there would be no other angels to compete with to try to defend their offspring. But seems as they beat me to it, and spawned before I separated them. That's why all I must do now is hold thumbs they do a good job at protecting their eggs this time!
So I will keep u guys and girls posted on what happens next. Either way whether it's successful or not, so I can share with you every step of the way! :blink1:
Here is a pic of the male still fertilizing the eggs.(he's been fetilizing since I noticed the eggs yesterday morning!) The eggs are on that branch where you see him.

Thanks @dash . Yeh, after the 1st time when the lights were put off (I wasn't even at home when it happened), I wasn't taking any chances. So there after once I discover eggs in the tank, I leave 1light on at night. And I can't remove the fish now, it's too late. I have to just wait and see how it plays out... But for the next time, I will definately be ready for them!!! :blink1:

Hi as soon as the eggs have hatched, and you can see some really small babies. Try catch them and put them in a bb tank with sponge filter. This is not going to be easy at all. Otherwise, just hope for the best.

    Thanks @Dinky and @sub-lime and @dash

    Quick update:
Day 3 of noticing the eggs from this pair, the eggs are still there. Not as much as the day before, or the 1st day for that matter. The eggs that turned white, the parents ate them. The others, they kept fanning them. They still fanning and protecting them. So, so far, so good. :top:

Hi good to here. After reading my previous post and taking some advice from @Altum I reallised that I in fact gave you incorrect advice. Do not try and catch the babies as they may not adapt to a new setup. Rather, move the eggs.

Like you also said may be next time lets hope and see how they do.
