Wen the cheap route again , planning for moss tank thought i dont need to go all out on substrate ..
i used pfp as base , then some pfs ontop , a bag of flourite onyx and then plain black gravel .

So latest on the tank . plants growing like mad , moss doing awesomely .
I have been seriously neglecting it as there is so much to do around the house.
I have not used ferts etc for about 1.5months I just keep forgetting to buy !
    Still using DIY CO2 .
going to do a trim probably on the weekend of all the tall plants so any takers let me know .
Pics of full tank , Taiwan moss , Spikey moss , and Flame moss .

Very nice man. How do you keep your moss so clean? Mine collects debris better than filter floss

My java moss thats in the bottom left corner does the same .
The taiwan moss wall that I am busy growing , i run airline behind it so you dont see the bubbles in the tank , but it pushes out all the debris . The spikey and flame have decent flow over them so the debris doesnt get a chance to settle.

Clever idea. I currently have all my moss in my 12l with a filter, airstone and 2 sponge filters running to grow it and keep it clean.

@byronb hey man your tank is looking super cool.

Which of the taller plants will you be trimming?

Do you have their proper names maybe?

The moss wall is coming along nicely.

Too bad that I'm in sasol at the moment. So close yet so far.

Where did you find plain black gravel, is that what is on top or is that the onyx?

Hi the bottom layer is pfp , then small cap of pfs . then used one bag of the onyx spread out rather thinly , then used normal black gravel I got from a place that sells stones etc for gardens ..
