My Discus Aqaurium

    I have a AquaH2O 450L Aquarium (L1500, H600, W500).

    Temp: between 28 and 29.
    pH: 7.0
    Ammonia: 0.0
    Nitrite: 0.0
    Nitrate: < 30 ppm

    Stock in the aqaurium:
    3 Discus, 2 Colbalt Blue and one Blue Turquoise (ordered 6 more Colbalt Blue Discus)
    3 African Butterfly Fish.
    6 Neon Dwarf Rainbow Fish(3 male, 3 female).
    6 Harlequin Rasbora.
    4 Cory Catfish.
    10 Glowlight Tetras.

    Once you have the additional 6 discus, I would suggest that you not add anymore to this tank.

    You need to push the Temp up to atleast 30C and reduce the pH to between 6 and 6.5.

    What is the Hardness of the water up there?

    I attached some pics, but they are gone now. Will try again.

    The water hardness i have no idea, but i know that we have hard water here.

    Temp is fine. ideal is 29/30
    Ph looks a little to high though

    I don't know what is with that background, it's only in this tank it looks so real. In other tanks i saw it it does not look so real.

    Hey q89... Awesome tank..saw your post on simplydiscus... I see you found a discus supplier in nam...I would be interested to hear abt water in swakop as I know they have had loads of problems... Most pumped from an aquifer ... Would think it is very hard but your fish are looking good.

    The water here in Swakopmund is really hard water. I mix RO and normal tap water(75/25%) for W/C and fill ups.

    And the Discus I ordered from our LFS.

    Update time!! [​IMG]

    Got my 6 Cobalt Blue Discus today, they are busy accumulating as i am posting this. Took 2 Clown Loaches as well (Only had enough money for 2).

    Will add pictures when they have settled.
