My name is Gert I am from Boksburg. I am not new to TASA but have been inactive for a long time. I have had various tanks almost all my life. Currently i have a custom 5 ft tank (1500 x 650 x 650) running a 4ft sump. 8000l/h return pump and 60l/m air pump. I have msotly convicts a common plec a ghost knife 2 albino oscars and some various smaller malawi ciclids, I have a mismatch landscape and it will be redone soon using mostly rocks. Currently I have an old schools shipwreck in  plus somy pvx pipes some rocks and some ceramic pot shards. Not pretty but functional. The glass on the tank is 12mm glass and got a huge green hue not he nice clear glass but still looks awesome when clean. I currenntlu have 2 pairs of convics with fry. I am planning to remove a lot of the convicts in the near future though.

Hi and ..... well... I guess I should say.. welcome out of the shadows!!

Nice that you have started a thread and shared your passion with everyone

Tank looks very nice, I like it
Love the Oscars and those convicts are gorgeous
The other fish... From the picture... you dont have a ghost knife fish, you have a clown knife fish which gets huge... and will soon be way too big for the tank
Same applies to the common pleco so maybe give some thought to these two.

Thanks yeah the ghost knife was a typo. Thet do take a long time to grow out so does the pleco I do have a lfs that normally take them if they do get too big. I do plan to restock with malawis and reduce the number og convicts I have way too many males in and the rate they reproduce is scary. I also love my albino iridescent shark (albino pangasius) they also grow much slower than the hifin variety.

Hello Gert, nice sized tanks which gives you a big variety of choices. If I was you I would rescape it with the rocks as you mentioned and stock it up with OB peacock malawies and haps or speak to the pros about malawis. the tank will be more active with like 75 malawis. Good luck and keep us posted.....
