    Hi Folks!

Got my breeding tanks almost setup ready for the arrival of some Apistogrammas, and thought I'd share a pic or two....

My Complete setup... Excuse the mess and Golf clubs!! Need a good tidy up....

Bottom Shelf is a 1.2m tank that I divided into 3 compartments, and the top shelf currently has 2 tanks that I had built. Their size is 42cm (l) x 48cm (w) x 45cm (h). The length is shorter than the width so that I can fit 3 tanks across the top shelf, whilst still utilising as much available space as possible! I asked for these tanks to be built from 6mm glass, with Euro Bracing and a 10mm base. The guy who built them also added in some bracing all round the bottom of the tanks. this was either 4mm or 6mm. Hard to tell with all the Silicon in place!

Some pics below of the new tanks.... Only 2 have arrived, I have to fetch the third next week....

    And the two together....

Anyhow, I'm so far very happy with the results, just so long as the tank doesn't atart leaking!

You'll also notice that I have not quite finished the new tanks! They only arrived this morning! I'll get the water sorted and then sort out the substrate afterwards!

    Anyhow, enjoy the pics!

    Cheers
    Big G!

Thanks guys! Darryn I will PM you tomorrow (hopefully) about the builder. At this stage don't want to mention, as I want to make sure they stay together! Looks a nice job tho!

And Gareth (good name by the way) I also hope I have good luck with the breeding, but its starting well... Already I have an offspring who should be joining the Big G clan on Monday (was due last wednesday!)! So that aspect of breeding was successful! Haha!

I just hope that the Apistos get jiggy with it once they are settled in!

    Cheeers
    Big G!

    Thanks Guys!

I did a lot of research, and spoke to a number of Apisto 'Experts'! It defo pays to research before going into such ventures!! I thank a number of people here on TASA who have helped me as well!

And Gaawie, if i am successful in my breeding venture, then I will sell the babies! I will offer them to TASA first! The aim is for this to become my 'income' as I do not work (other than as a volunteer)! I know it womn't make a furtune, but even if it pays for the hobby its worth it!

    Cheers

Hey Vee! Nice to hear from you!!

As of yet, no other pics! Haven't progressed much over the last few days, due to the arrival of my second son!

I have good news already tho... I bought some Endler Guppies from the Prof about a week ago, and put them into two of the partitions. I was looking today, and noticed some baby fry sitting at the back of one of the sections! And all the other females are looking plump and juicey ready to pop!!!

And to top that off, my cacatuoides eggs hatched! More on that in my 'Cacatuoides Community Breeding' Thread (no idea how to link to other threads!) once I get a chance to post!

    I'll keep you posted!

    Cheers!
