Sorry I have been AWOL for awhile! This is the latest update on my tank...

These are two quick ones with the camera phone.

So I would like to do abit of an update on the landscaping as it has been many years. I want to try keep the same plants but obviously a huge trim.

Any suggestions welcome please. Rocks or wood and placement?

    Thanks in advance!

Nice tank! And yeah some wood in those openings would be cool perhaps.

Wow, a big healthy mature looking clump of java fern and a ton of anubias!
    Love the moss too!
    Tank looks great.

Looking back at the thread I see you decided to ditch the carpet?

The corner on the right back is the area that needs some tweaking imo. Perhaps some spiderwood with epiphytes (windelov/ bolbitis perhaps?), or else some bushy stems or large crypts?

    An update...
After load shedding and numerous power failures of 12 hour intervals. I had alot of plants die back. Also my regulator seems to be leaking gas so having that seen to.

Cleaned up the tank and now starting over....

I currently have only one T5 21W globe running. Will mount a 20W LED flood light as an experiment, start adding ferts and get my Co2 running again. [IMG]

    The latest update.

My solenoid is no longer working, so I am running the Co2 24/7, the rate is slow, 1bps. My drop checker is showing a lime green colour constantly. I have a little BBA creeping in and will spot dose with Excel. Other then that I am trying to get more plants, but the LFS are all low on stock at the moment.

I will attempt to order some plants online.

I have taken off my black background as the glass is stained. I have tried vinegar but the marks are still there? Any other suggestions to get rid of stubborn water marks?

Has anyone attempted to paint the back of a tank? And what paint can be used?

    Thanks all.
I will post an updated picture soon...

I would really recommend getting some fast growing step plants or floating plants to deal with algae, what you have are such slow growers they dont help with much.

For stubborn stains i used a product called bar keepers friend (saw this on the diy kings yt channel) worked like a charm but could only find it on takealot since its a Canadian product. i used this in an empty tank though, but if its for the outside it will be fine as long as you are careful.

Any paint for glass works fine, i got a small bottle of glass paint from builders.
