    Cool.

Thanks @Ryno. But would that be from a petshop or a lighting shop? And just another white light, not pink?

Nice start. Good choice on the pine too. Just make sure it is sealed properly.

Cool. So many DIY cabinet and hood builds going on at the moment that it's becoming quite difficult to keep track of who's doing what :amuse:

Alright, so filled the tank this afternoon to check for leaks, none so far :)

Then was going to put polystyrene under the rocks but that did not work - floated...

Do I have to put something under the rocks, and if so what can I use that does not need to be siliconed down or screwed in?

    Thanks

Just a question: What fish are you planning to keep in here and have you done a vinegar test on the rocks?

Pop a few drops of vinegar onto the rocks. If it bubbles, it will alter your water chemistry. Not good for soft water fish like tetras, etc...

@Sean J - I would like a community tank, so there will probably be tetras in. I did a vinegar test but none of them bubbled. One did make a soft fizz noise though (Is that bad or just a soaking sound) Is there another test I could do?

First one is definitely not Vallis... It looks more like Cyperus helferi. 2nd one is Alternanthera. If it is Alternanthera sessilis, it's not aquatic, if it's A. reinekii it is. It requires high light and Co2. 3rd one is a sword, Echinodorus... Not sure which kind.

Thanks very much for the info!

I also thought number 2 was ALTERNANTHERA REINECKII 'LILACINA' as it looks the same. Will look up the sword info now.

    Thanks again...

Hmmm. Even a 5 foot tank gets too small.

Plant no1 Looks like Vallis Nana. @Sean J I might be wrong though. But it looks alot like it.
Plant No3 looks like Echinodorus Cordifolius. Can you take a picture showing the top of the leaf?
