beautiful fish and tank and im sorry it seems i seem to be the voice of condemnation lately(i dont wanna take away zooms job i know jobs are scarce),but and maybe im wrong here but there are a few things should be adhered to when keeping certain fish ie crushed coral as a substrate for south american fish is aNO NO.mixing hard and softwater fish besides the fact of different water parameter needs in my experience the hardwater fish are always more aggressive and the sa fish usually come off second best(even big oscars) talking from experience here.also you may be a bit overstocked.sorry if i sound like im being hard or negative but it comes from a good place, your fish are beautiful and do look healthy as far as i can see,,i dont know how long your tank has been running but some of the fish seem to a good size im assuming you got them as juveniles and some still have growing to do expect a lot more growth from the oscars and pleco, space might get a bit tight and if things are fine now when it does that might be when the trouble starts.i hope what i say is taken in the spirit it is intended.

Your tank looks great. Perfect size for African cichlids. The crushe corall and volcanic rock are perfect for African cichlids.

Green Terrors, Texas Cichlis, Golden Tinfoils, Convict Cichlids, Oscars, Spotted Deacons strictly speaking do not belong with africans and vice versa. Water parameters are different for these species.

    But Tank looks good

Thanks Athol for the feedback - greatly appreciated. The mix is 1 bag of crush with a whole load of playsand - the tank has been running for a year, and so far, so good - no fights etc as yet. I do agree that it is overstocked - if agression sets in, I will setup another tank and seperate the trouble makers :). Great advice though and I guess its very important if I wish to breed any of the pairs. Thanks again.

    Hi Trik107

Best bet would be start setting up the tank, more driftwood, less rock as they hurt themselves with rock - I had that problem. A few plastic plants. I am running 2 simple flouresent lights - red, blue and daylight white. Get a good heater dpending on the size of your tank. One the tank is looking gr8, let me know and I will try help you to source some good malawis and good prices.

    Regards
    Breado.

    Hi Trik107

More rocks will be the way to go for the mabunas, but try to get very smooth rocks else they scratch themselves. I prefered wood as they can dig under them without it collapsing over their hard work. I think the key concern with wood is the water parameters - if you can manage that then you wont have any problems.

    Regards
