    Hi All

I restarted my 100l tank about 3 weeks ago and decided to go the PFP route after i saw the prices of ada products etc. I added 10 neons and 12 shrimps but the neons was way to interested in the shrimps so i decided to start up the old 50l tank for the shrimps to enjoy themselves, i must say i really enjoy watching these small little creatures eating and swimming around.

I am struggeling with alge on my java and anubias so i decided yesterday to buy a led light, i was using T5 lights so i bought the ZP4000-80P 24W but must say i am very disappointed with the strength of the light for the price it cost but hopefully i will see an increase in the growth of my monte carlo, i always wanted a carpet in my tank. I am dosing scape complete for about a week now and must say i already see an improvement in the growth of the anubia, java and the conte carlo.

The monte carlo is growing but i know i must get co2 for it to make a nice carpet but for now i am very happy that they are actually spreading and not dying on me lol

So here are some pics of my tanks, it is a work in progress so hopefully in a few months it will look good and healthy

    Looking good @Gerrit

Im not a plant expert so cant offer too much advice there but algae can be so frustrating

    Hope the LED's help
Im also still running T5 lights on my tanks and I also battle
My son runs Zetlights and he has no algae problems so that's my next investment

    Hope yours gets sorted too

Always good to see tanks get started up again

Cool rocks in the shrimp villa - are the shrimp not keeping on top of algae?

Could you do 3-4 ottos, 6-8 amanos and 1 or 2 nerite snals on the 100L? That should sort you out!

You might be surprised at what these critters can do with algae. You might have to cut away some badly affected leaves, but let them loose first and make the call a week or so later. Anubias and java fern are both slow growing so see if some leaves can be cleaned.

Also, check with others, but I think anubias and java fern are both more succeptable to algae in high light.
