    Hey all

Just thought I'd share a couple of pictures of the displays at home. Also been fiddling around with the decor a bit with the one tank, lemme know what you think.

The first tank is my West African tank. Used to have more 'cichlid' in it, but it's slowly being dominated by more, erm, 'odd', types. The tank is about 140 litres, 80cm long. Here's a few shots of the inhabitants; you won't see a full tank shot tonight because the front glass is looking a bit green...

    One-Spot Syno, Synodontis notatus

    Senegal bichir, Polypterus senegalus

The next tank is the main lounge display tank. Its mostly got some of the bigger Asian species, although along the way one or two others jumped in just because they needed the space. The tank is 5x2x2 foot, roughly 540 litres. Here's the tank and a few of the fish:

And the 'non-Asian' ones I spoke about, Polypterus endlicheri and P. senegalus.

Enjoy the pictures and please feel free to comment!

It doesn't get too bad, even at feeding times. I recently got rid of the more aggressive fish, maybe that's why... :p

Hehe, actually it's not a night light... or an aquarium light for that matter. Just a regular 4ft flourescent tube. It was a lot cheaper than the standard aquarium tubes, but the output isn't great for photography.

Sure. Here's a picture of the other side:

The tank is filtered by two systems - one internal 'Dolphin F-2000' and an external 'Dolphin C-1300'. I'm considering either adding another internal filter or adding a sump system, although for now it isn't really necessary.

Really nice tank - almost a Rio Negro type biotype - It would look GREAT with some South American cichlids and a few cory's :)

Or is that just my dream tank ????

    Thanks a lot guys :D

I'm glad you guys like it, I was a bit worried it looked too empty. It also helps when the tank acts as a room divider.

I have three Clown Knives in there, the smallest is about 15cm, the next is about 25cm, and the largest one (the one in the pic) is just over a foot, somewhere between 30 and 35cm.

I have other Knifefish in ther tanks that grow a whole lot slower. I think it is the diet though: they get fed on a staple diet of a mix of koi pellets, Tetra Prima, and 'Superior Nutrition' Cichlid food. The stuff that rwally gets them going though are the feedings with chicken liver, pieces of fish or squid. High protien, basically.
