my 2.2 m tank- upgrade

A wile ago Marias asked for some tips and help on the best way to cycle and move fish from a running tank to a new tank, to all that advised, thanks and
this is just to show everyone the setup and how it went ...

When I got the tank it had a 3D background that needed a good clean and touch up, but after a lot of homework and thought I decided to remove it and go for a
stick on the back background as it took up a lot of space in the tank that was needed for my Arowana.

as for the filtration I was going to use all the filters from the old tank. I decided to hard plum the canister filters as it looks much nicer and neater .
Used 50mm pvc pipe for the suction. wanted to make sure I had enough flow for the Sunsun 2000lph canister and Dolphin C2400.. for the outlet side
I ran 40mm pvc that tappers down to a 25mm flexible hose. wanted to eliminate any 90deg bends as to not restrict the flow..
Gravel used was PFS as I wanted to try my luck with live plants. 3x 300w heaters. also built a diy overflow that runs down to a 110L sump..

As for the move, we filled the tank half way with clean water, dosed with prime and stability. let the tank run for 2 days . on the day of the move all fish were moved to drums,
all the water from the old tank (650L) was moved to the new tank... once all was full and ok fish were acclimatized and introduced into their new home.
much to my surprise my Arowana was a pleasure to move and allowed me to measure her/him at 48cm.. with the Arowana is 5 clown loaches, 6 Geo Cichlid's, 1 Flag tail, 1 Bala shark, 2 red Deacons and my stingray.....


tank has been running for a month now and all the fish are doing great and plants are also doing well with signs of growth..

Where does one get the pvc piping from used for the tanks plumbing ?

 

builders warehouse, plumbing shops all should have stock ..
