It was through 3 separate orders at exclusive pets in centurion, haven't seen any since though. Dolphin might be able to get them if his track record of finding exotics is anything to go by

HI all just thought I would give you guys an update.
I have "sealed" off the window now with Polystyrene and a curtain and the algae growth has really slowed down a lot now. I have also found that I give to much food and it was helping the algae along so I feed twice a day now but much less and it seems to be working.
I have added a Siamese Fight in now as well and he seems to be getting a long with all the other fish and the ones he has problems with he is to slow to catch them so he can't really bully them....lol
I have finally got plant growth now as well and my tank is look much better than it did, I will post new pics as soon as I find my card reader so that I can load it onto the PC...lol hopefully tonight.

On my tank I had a fibre glass lid and wanted to fit 6 1.2m 40watt tubes in. So I had a 1mm stainless steel plate bent up to suite the lid as a refector and fitted the tubes. Made a huge difference to the lighting in the tank. I paid R220.00 including the material, cutting and bending.

    Hi all
I will post pics tomorrow for you all to see my tank... I have a question though,
in the tank if I stand barefoot and touch the water of this tank it gives me a slight shocking feeling, I know there is something in the tank that is cause it but what I want to know does it affect the fish at all because they carry on like normal.....busy,busy,busy so do you think I should leave it or must I sort it out?

Could it not maybe be the carpet you're standing on?

That doesn't sound like a good thing. Maybe try switching off electronics one by one and see which one it is. Do the fish act any different when you're being shocked? Because that could be grounding the current.

This generally means that there is an earthing fault with something in the tank. It shouldn't effect the fish... but left uncared for, you could give yourself a shocking experience.

Actually, come to think about it... it actually could be any appliance in your house that's got the earth fault, and it's being conducted through one of the items in your tank. Could be quiet a fun thing to find out.

First unplug EVERYTHING in your house... I MEAN EVERYTHING. Even all the stuff in the garage, servants room... EVERYTHING. Leave the stuff in the tank plugged in, and see if it still happens. If it doesn't, then plug everything in your house back in one by one, testing after each appliance to see where the problem is.

If the problem is still there when everything is unplugged, then it will more than likely be something in the tank. Take out each item one by one.

You need to test your house stuff FIRST.. because let's say for example your TV is the fault, and is being conducted through an earth fault via your heater in the tank. When you take the heater out the tank, obviously the fault will go away... and you will instantly think it's the heater.

Looks good Gareth. That tank looks like its going on forever. How may plants do you have in their?
I have a CAE in my 3ft and that thing eats algae like crazy. He is still young 4-5cm. He will get to big and lazy and
Then I will give him away but he really helped with my algae.
