oh and dont plant the rhizomes of the ferns rather tie them to the drift wood just above the substrate..

Very nicely scaped....nice base for plant growth. Some moss onto the left log would be gr8. Some crypt parva in the front left area of the tank would look absolutely awesome there. Maybe add Rotala Macranda or Red Cabomba at the back somewhere to break the greenery (assuming you filling it up with some more)....the tank would would then be awesomeness, as Mongs would say ;)

Oh yes, what lights do you have in there? Any CO2?

PS - Very beautiful beautiful beautiful denisons you have there mate

    I am running four 54W T5's and yes I am pumping CO2.

Got mainly tetras, some clown loaches, two rams, two torpedos a bulldog and a twig.

Some moss would be good. GOT SOME FOR ME ?

do you have Rathburn's tetra's in there, pic not too clear...

yep, you have a good base to develop this into a planted tank!

    Hey Brentnorm,

Tank looks awesom buddy. I notices your heaters are very 'vertical'. I'm sure you've seen the current heater threads... if not check them out, and possibly look at putting your heaters more horizontal.

Your substrate looks very rough - just watch the barbels on your clown loaches as they will easily get damaged if the substrate is not fine enough.

Do you think I should add to my current substrate ? What do you suggest ?

Clown loaches don't generally dig so what I'd do is remove the top half of the existing substrate and replace it with a finer substrate. That way you are not removing all your beneficial bacteria but are still providing a 'friendlier' substrate to your bottom feeders.

They can go wherever they feel comfortable. Got one Kuhli Loach that sits under a rock on the coarse gravel... For some reason he doesn't like the fine sand???
