I was very tempted to keep them at one point.
Have only seen them once at the lfs.

Also, I think they can get very aggro with each other, so need quite a big tank to keep multiple fish.

I kept a pair not too long ago, of P. barbarus. Tried them out in two types of setup, and they flourished in both.

Have you managed to identify which species? Slight differences in behaviour but otherwise similar care throughout the group.

One male, preferably. Or only one if you have limited space, since the male might harass the female.

Space is species dependent. Periophthalmus barbus and P. argentilineatus get bigger and are more likely to quarrel among themselves, so would need approximately 40cm² per animal for comfortable housing with both a "land" and water section. P. novemradiatus get much smaller and tolerate each other much more, so a similar space could house a group of two or three.

I have owned mudskippers they are fun fish to own, I would feed them a baby cricket and they would chase them and stalk them but I gave them to someone who had a good setup
