    Yep :( You need info?

Stay away from MTN contracts... they LOVE messing you around.

    Yes please Linxie

I have been with them for 10 years plus and have only had two bad experiences and this is the 2nd one.

Just port your number to Vodacom. :blink1: Or tell them you going to, maybe you get some action from them then if they value your business.

What kind of info are you looking for?

I've only recently joined MTN (applied for the contract in Dec... the one with the Vuka scooter) and it took them 2 months to sort the contract out. Pathetic stuff I tell ja.

Yes, they are cheaper and they do offer good deals, but I strongly advise you either be patient with them or not bother at all.

Nice thinking there Ace... that might just work :)

    EDIT:

Donny, I've found they do not anser to HelloPeter complaints :( I can give you the number of the guy who helped me, but I think its at home, so I'll only be able to get that this evening for you.

My mother in law is also on MTN. And she is also getting NO service from them. I'm trying to convert her to port her number to Vodacom also.

If the sim died you will have to buy a new one... and ten to one the info is gone!!

Yeah they've got a terrible attitude. Wish I could find my Hello Peter post for you now. (If I find it I'll post it for you)
AAAaah I found it... good for a laugh now.

    My initial complaint:

I am truly disgusted by MTNs service.
Last month I applied for the Vuka Scooter contract. I was told to phone MTN the same day I got my phone so that I could activate my contract. They told me that I couldn't get my scooter without activating my contract either.
I phoned them on the 14 Dec 2009 (the day I received my phone) to activate my contract. I was told that the contract is activated and I proceeded to Vuka to get my scooter sorted out.
I get a phone call from Vuka a couple of weeks back telling me that my contract has NOT been activated. Since then I've been on the phone to MTN constantly trying to get this sorted out.

It appears as though they messed up royally! First excuse I got was that it was activated in someone elses name... they'd sort it out. The next excuse I got was there was a technical problem. I've heard so many stories from them now. Shame MTN!

I'm STILL waiting for them to sort this mess out. I've wasted a LOT of my airtime holding on the phone with these people and they don't have the decency to phone me back when they promise to. I expect MTN to sort this matter out ASAP as I refuse to phone them and waste any more of my money on them.

    Their Response:

    Hello Linxie,

    Thank you for your post.

We apologize for the inconvenience caused

Please note that the matter has been referred to the relevant persons for resolution and feedback.

    Kind regards
    MTNSP

And a few days later... My last response to them

Utterly disgusted: And yet more empty promises from MTN. No one has phoned me yet and when I tried getting a managers contact details, I was refused those. What are these people hiding that I can't get a managers email address or direct number?

Eventually things were sorted out after I spoke to the guy whose number I'm going to get for you.

The only problem in porting is that you need to be at the end of your MTN contract otherwise they going to tell you you need to buy out your existing contract.

Vodacom is just as bad as they register additional services on your account which is a nightmare to get that cancelled.
