    Hi All

I am going to be moving in 2 weeks time.

The big tank is about 1.2m with a sump.

What are your tips to make it as easy as possible?

    Thanks

    Alfie

Take out the water first:lol:. Nah a 1.2m isn't too heavy so 2 people would be able to move it easily. Carry the tank on the stand if you can, this gives you time to rest if you need to and you can just put it down. Use a towel to drag the tank into the bakkie or car and drag it onto the stand at the other side. Tape the foam onto the stand if it comes off, makes it easier when doing the setup. Empty all the media, sand into buckets, fish also with tank water. when you get at the new place fire up the aerator for them so you have time to set everything up without a rush. Easy.

Lol wish it was that easy.

    Tank is 120 x 45 x 70. 10mm glass, with a 100 x 25 x 40 sump. Needs to go with the removals lorry.

The fish would need to stay in a container(s) for more than 24h as the plumbing will have to come apart and be re siliconed and cured.

Filter media will also need container and aeration ....

Wrap the tank and sumps in a blankets. I would tape foam around all the corners also. You will have to aerate the media yes. We moved a 700L and 450L system to table view from Sumerset west two weeks ago with a bike trailer, fun times. 1.6m 10mm sides and 12mm base and reinforcements with 1.5m sump and a 1.2m 8mm sides and base with 1m sump. I think I'm 10cm shorter now. Once you start packing it's not so bad but it does feel like a mountainous task right before you begin. We where only 2 guys, the 1.2 was ok but that 1.6, joh it was heavy.
