More than 1 canister filter?

    So i have seen more and more question pop up with regards to canister filters, and i do see more and more people saying they have more than 1 canister. With this in mind, i would like to know why people use more than 1 canister filter.

    It just adds to the amount of water filtered. A tank can't really be overfiltered.

    It also depends on how you like to clean your tank. I like having two filters, only one on the UPS though, then you can clean one filter at a time without ruining your bacteria to much.

    I also agree that you can't overfilter a tank, but the flow rate might become to high. For that, run one canister with a cross flow, while one canister uses a spraybar or similiar (if you have a hill stream tank or similiar, you can run both as cross flow)

    It also depends on the size and volume of your tank.
    Sometimes it is better to have 2 smaller filters than 1 bigger one. Especially if the tank volume is towards the max for the size stated for the bigger filter.
