Moderators Wanted

    Hi everyone :D

    We are looking for another 4 or 5 moderators to join our team on TASA, if you would like to nominate someone then please post their name in this thread or contact us via PM, or if you would like to nominate yourself then feel free to PM myself or one of the mods. Thank You.

    The kind of things we generally look for in a moderator:

    Maturity - preferably at least 25 to 30 years old
    Level Headed - must be able to keep cool in an argument and be rational
    People Friendly - must be able to get on well with all types of personalities
    Firm - must be able to apply the forum rules in a diplomatic, friendly, yet firm manner
    Unbiased - must be able to not take sides in an argument, be impartial, even if one of your friends is involved
    Fun - must enjoy the forum and have a sense of humour


    We are not looking for mods that are masters in fishkeeping, we are looking to create a balanced team that includes both knowledgeable mods as well as people orientated mods, you don't have to know everything about every fish and plant. And you don't have to have 15000 posts either. :)

    Also, at least one of the new mods MUST be a female member, so please nominate who you think would be suitable or who you would like to have as new moderators.

    p.s. All new mods will join the team on a 6 month probationary period, this is done because being a moderator is not for everyone, you may be selected and after a while you may not enjoy it and wish to return as a normal member, or we may decide that after a few months we do not think that you are a suitable candidate to be a moderator and may request for you to continue as a normal member.

    Sorry, something I left out, preferably members that are online quite often as well, we don't expect you to be online 24/7 but it would be beneficial if you can spend a few hours online during the day and the evenings as well as on weekends.

    So, I do agree that we would benefit from a female mod member... I would like to nominate @Irma. I believe she would be an admirable mod!

I am sure you meet the criteria if you nominate yourself. This is not a competition to see who is more mature or who has the most experience keeping fish.

    Hmm, I probably fulfill the requirements but I'm not sure I want that responsibility - I've done modding before and it gets a bit much after a while. However, if no-one else steps up (for the female position), I'll be happy to run for it.

    Dirk fills in for me where Dr. Axelrod left me (in the 1970's) and Irma has a pleasant (rational) writing style..... so there are my nominations.... Dirk Bellstedt and Irma...... now we still need someone with a great sense of humour to complete the team......
