hi, i would like to know if zebra and pakistani loaches can be mixed. If yes, do they have the same temperment (need to be peaceful) and will they interact (play swim together) like they all one kind?

Sorry Fanlie, but loaches and other loaches are not always good tankmates, especially with the Botia Genus.

In this case though, I think they should be fine, provided your Zebras are actual zebras, and not tigers 'misidentified'? You may have an issue when the Pakistani loach gets to full size, as they can get a bit bigger than the Zebra's, but thats a long way away yet.

I don't think the pakistani will shoal with them though? In my experience, these are quite solitary, whereas the Zebras appreciate being in a group of 6+.

*Edit* - It could also depend on which species of 'Pakistani' loach you have? there are two different species known commonly as Pakistani Loaches. One is more aggressive than the other.

    HTH?
    Regards
    G!

Zebra loaches do great with most loaches but Pakistani (Yoyo) loaches do not. Rather keep a bigger school of zebras or if you must get some Botia Rostrata or Histrionica to mix. They look very similar though.

Hows it Disco, why don't you try to get some Polka-dot loaches? I to have had a bad experience with the Pakistani loach(They get real aggressive). Currently have 10 clowns,3 zebra,1 high fin & 2 Khuli loaches and they all get along very well(kind sticks to kind).

JA clown loach kan tot 20-25cm in aqauruim en in die wild 30cm maar baie baie stadig groei. Jy kan joue tank vir jou kleinkind gee :) clown loach's life span is baie lank. Good luck met jou loaches tank.

Just from my personal experience.... I have kept Zebra loaches and clown loaches together and they were quite happy in there.
