    Hello Henk,

I trust the title of this thread caught your attention.

Now I know you are importing the stuff. Everytime some asks for a product, you are quick to mention Microbe-Lift, with the website address... first of all... not cool dude... how about actually mentioning what product you would recommend, and prices? But that's a little off topic.

What I really want to know is this...

Can you do a thread, or add onto this one with details of the basic stuff you have, along with the prices for our members? I've only heard good reports about this stuff... and I would love to have a bit more information. You don't need to go into detail on all the products, but more specifically the stuff that is more commonly used in everyday aquarium keeping... and maybe just make mention of the other stuff.

(I've tried on numerous occasions to go through the website... but I've mentioned to you before how poor that site is, for a commercial product, as it is very interactive, and the AVERAGE person with ADSL will get highly frustrated navigating through that website- we don't all have the huge ADSL set up like you do...LOL)

Anyway... that's my request... use it, don't use it... it would just be interesting to see what's available. I'm moving into the age where I'll happily order stuff online and receive it posted... but unless I know what I'm ordering...

The MicrobeLift range is a superb range of products. I'll start putting together more info on each of the products which we import and post it. I'll start on this first thing tomorrow morning as all my info is sitting on my laptop at the office.

Finally some in-depth info, yay. Thanks Vee, I've also wondered what you are bringing in from their range, I remember mention of it before you brought it in, and then suddenly all info dropped away cept for the name and recommendation :D

Things started getting really busy which was why I was not on TASA as much but I'm back now! :)

There are quite a few products we have brought in already, for freshwater, marine and ponds. We will slowly expand the product range with each import though and also on demand. As a few of the products are specialized and there is nothing else like it here, it is a guess as to what will sell well here in SA and what would be a slow seller. There is such a vast range that we thought it best to slowly increase the range here rather than inundate everyone with each and every product. So if there is a MicrobeLift product you have seen/read about or heard of, and you don't see it around, please just let us know and we'll look at bringing it in should there be sufficient interest.

I trust you finished that cup of tea.

Ok, let me just voice what everyone else is going to be asking, and too $hit scared of you to ask...

Why the hell are to punting a product if you can't even sell it to us?? You go bragging about a great product, don't tell us where we can get it... and now you tell us you can't sell it to us... NOT COOL HENK!!

I've been LPS hopping to about 8-10 different LPS stores this weekend, and guess what, I didn't see it once!! (Nor your Omega One Shrimp pellats for that matter!)

If you became a sponsor, then could you supply?

If you can't supply... how do we get this stuff... and how do we get it that we don't pay the wholesale + retail + water and lights + staff salaries prices???

i went to a few pet stores around durbs and when i asked for Microbe-Lift, they all looked at me dumbstruck, a few of them said they never even heard of it. But Zoom has a point why promote it if you can't sell it to us...

@Vee: Thanks for taking the time and effort to give us more info on the products you are marketing. I wish more people were prepared to make the effort to market their products properly instead of just trying to shove it down our throats.

    Rigtheo,

First of all – nice Trolling Zoom – i taught you well!

The product has only been in the country for 6 weeks. The JHB roll out has been kept at a slower pace than the Cape Town roll out as we first want to gauge the response and then we will step up the roll out. Zoom i did provide with our agents details up in GP so you are more than welcome to contact him.

We are sponsors on MASA as a wholesaler with our retail clients which are also sponsors on the site selling the products. The same would be the case on TASA. Any product related questions can be posted on our forum or PM’ed to me but any sales can be directed to any of the retailers on the site. We also partly sponsored the 2010 calendars MASA published. If you guys wants to see how a forum should be then go take a look there. We need to get more LFS’s on TASA which will allow Rory to buy the add-ons needed.

If you want to buy wholesale you can setup a pet shop and we will supply you. We DO NOT sell to the public due to contractual obligations with our suppliers as well as our distributors. The drama that it causes with the shops if you sell to the public is just not worth it. Do you want to sell R300 worth of fish food to one person vs. R12 000 a week to one shop? It simply doesn’t add up.

At the moment we have not rolled out MicrobeLift in Durban at all. It will be part of the 3rd phase of the roll out. If you want your LFS to order for you feel free to give us their details and we will contact them.

The 4.5oz Shrimp pellets has been out of stock now for a while due to a client buying every single box that we had! Every single container we had around. It was something like 380 units! You will be glad to know that it is still available in the 2.15oz and the 8.1oz units and your LFS can order those for you. Zoom you do have all of my contact details so feel free to send me a pm/sms/face book/email/smoke signal/pigeon with the name of the shop where you normally get the products from and i will find out why it doesn’t have. You will also be glad to know that we have 4 pallets of OmegaOne somewhere in the mid-Atlantic at the moment and it should dock in Cape Town around the 23rd.

Ferryman – Moolis knows where to get the products and the GP reps call on him every week. If you guys want to you can order from him.

Darryn – The offer still stands for you to come around for a cup of coffee/tea/beer/wine and then i can give you the catalogues.

I hope this answers all the questions. Feel free to ask if you want any more info.

    Microbe-Lift Product Details

Okay everyone, this is going to be a LONG post I'm afraid. Below are six of our products, I'll try and do more today and tomorrow. I've listed the info on the Gel Filter Cartridge Innoculant, Gravel & Substrate Cleaner, TheraP, Herbtana, Artemiss and Defend...the rest will follow. If you have any questions please let us know. Here goes.....

    MICROBE-LIFT
    GEL FILTER CARTRIDGE INOCULANT

    · Contains 2.5 million CFU* per mL. of gel
    · Immediately establishes biological activity
    · Quickly stabilizers aquarium environments
    · Use when inserting a new cartridge in your filter or after every cartridge cleaning
    · Use whenever placing new filter media in your aquarium filtering system
    *Colony forming units

    Reef Safe

MICROBE-LIFT/ Gel Filter Cartridge Inoculant is a technological breakthrough because it is the first product that lets you put the bacteria right where you want it and it STAYS THERE.

MICROBE-LIFT/ Gel Filter Cartridge Inoculant will quickly attach to and populate all brands of filter cartridges and all styles of media including foam, floss, bio-balls, ceramic media, etc. This will help rapidly establish the necessary biological activity in your filter to stabilize your aquarium’s environment quickly. It will also help to restore the activity to your filter when you clean or change the media and when you replace your filter cartridge.
    · Easily applies to filter cartridge pads/media without running or getting messy.
    · Contains naturally occurring bio-polymers that help the organisms quickly attach to media allowing for 80% reduction in filter start-up time.
    · Helps to stabilize aquarium environment quickly upon startup and eliminates transient instability that can occur when filter media is cleaned or replaced. You should replace your filter cartridge after every 6 inoculations.
    · Allows for more frequent cleaning of filters without subsequent instability if an aquarium has a high solids loading where frequent cleaning is beneficial.
    · Reduces the frequency of cleaning by accelerating the breakdown of organic solids that can lead to high maintenance requirements.
    · Helps establish denitrification in the filter; which can lower nitrate levels in the aquarium.

    Directions
Inoculate (spread) MICROBE-LIFT/Gel Filter Cartridge Inoculant directly to your filter cartridge, pads or media. The Gel will absorb into the filter cartridge, pads or media by letting it set for one to two hours before inserting back into the filter. Inoculate (spread) the gel into each corner of the filter cartridge. If your filter cartridge pad is rectangular (like the photo), add 2 more drops in the middle of the cartridge. After insertion, turn off recirculating pump for one to two hours, providing water can maintain adequate oxygenation without circulation for this amount of time.

Repeat application of MICROBE-LIFT/Gel Filter Cartridge Inoculant each time you clean or replace your filter cartridge, pads or media, when nitrate levels exceed – 0.6 mg/L or as necessary to maintain optimum performance from your filter or skimmer.
Note: Saltwater slows down bacterial action. For faster results in marine environments apply more gel.

·Provides rapid and natural sludge & muck removal
·80% faster than bacterial products alone
·Reduces and binds nutrients including phosphates
    ·Organic and microbial based

    Reef Safe

Years in development, MICROBE-LIFT/ Gravel & Substrate Cleaner speeds the biological breakdown of slow to degrade organic waste matter from aquarium bottoms that may become toxic to fish and plant life.
As organic solids accumulate on the aquarium bottom they begin to break down, releasing toxic gases and by –products to the surrounding environment. These gaseous by-products endanger fish, marine life, and plants.
MICROBE-LIFT/ Gravel & Substrate Cleaner biologically degrades bottom organic sludge and muck with minimal disturbance, reducing or eliminating the potential harmful gaseous compounds, and helps to clarify your aquarium water at the same time.
MICROBE-LIFT/ Gravel & Substrate Cleaner contains natural cellulosic matter, select biological accelerators and special microbes proven effective in aquarium sludge reduction.

Recommended for use with all MICROBE-LIFT bacteria and enzyme products.

MICROBE-LIFT/ Gravel & Substrate Cleaner will discolor your aquarium water for 48-96 hours after application.

MICROBE-LIFT/ Gravel & Substrate Cleaner will also help to clarify dirty aquarium water.

    Directions
For substrate which has ¼ “ or more of solids build up, apply 2 tsp. (10 mL.) of MICROBE-LIFT/ Gravel & Substrate Cleaner 38L of tank water.
    Examples: Tank Size Dosage
    60 Gal. 12 tsp (4 tbsp./60 mL.)
    75 Gal. 15 tsp (5 tbsp./75 mL.)
Use as directed every other week until substrate is clean then follow Substrate Maintenance dosage schedule below.
Substrate Maintenance – For substrate with less than ¼” or more of solids build up, apply 1 tsp. (5 mL.) of MICROBE-LIFT/ Gravel & Substrate Cleaner per 10 gal. (38 L.) of tank water.
    Examples: Tank Size Dosage
    60 Gal. 6 tsp (2 tbsp. / 30m L.)
    75 Gal. 7 ½ tsp (2 ½ tbsp. / 37 mL.)
Use as directed monthly. If build up exceeds ¼” follow Substrate Cleaning dosage schedule.

The bacteria in this bottle must remain in this original bottle or it may lose its effectiveness if transferred to another container.

Since each bottle of MICROBE-LIFT is grown individually, color variations may exist from bottle to bottle. These variations in color are not indicative of variations in product quality. Any floating particles present are suspended biofilm which slough off the sides of the bottle. Dimpling or expansion of the container is caused by pressure differences resulting from temperature variations due to the fact that the bottle is sealed

    Marine Tanks

*Saltwater environments - the bacteria in this product will remain effective when used in marine environments with a specific gravity of 1.017 to 1.025. In new marine tanks, add the aquarium salt mix and allow the water to circulate for 24 hours, then check and adjust the density. Add the bacteria after the water has circulated for the 24-hour period.

Saltwater oceans are a highly stable environment with very little fluctuation in pH. The ocean waters dilute fish waste and organic matter. The bacteria in MICROBE-LIFT/TheraP provides the assistance needed to break down the decaying organic matter and cycle certain elements, e.g. carbon and nitrogen, etc. which may build up in your tank.

This product is NOT a chemical. It is harmless to humans, animals, fish and plants. Since we cannot control the pre-existing dynamics of individual aquaria, the above information and instructions are subject to many variables. Many situations may be unique in nature.

MICROBE-LIFT/TheraP has a hydrogen sulfide odor, which will dissipate quickly.

These bacteria are compatible with biological filters and UV lights. The UV lights should be turned off for 48-72 hours after the introduction of this product. This will allow the bacteria to progress through their most active growth stage.

MICROBE-LIFT/TheraP works well with activated carbon and is compatible with copper based products.

The suggested dosage rates may be adjusted to accommodate the fish population in your aquarium. Heavy chlorine and chloramines and some fish medications may have an adverse effect on the effectiveness of this product.
Wait 72 hours after adding medications (antibiotics) before adding the bacteria.
This product is not a medication and should not be used to treat advanced stage infections or disease. It should be used primarily as a preventative.

All MICROBE-LIFT bacterial products may be used together. However when using multiple MICROBE-LIFT bacterial products, reduce the dosage rate of the 2nd product by 50%. After administering the bacteria, monitor your pH.

    Shake Well Before Using

    MICROBE-LIFT/Herbtana
is a unique, herbal, immune-enhancing stimulant, which reduces: skin flukes, gill flukes, Ich, Oodinium, Costia, Chilodonella and Trichodina. Parasitic infections are characterized by symptoms, such as: milky skin, flashing and heavy breathing.

Parasites are generally present on most fish at very low levels at all times. These are naturally controlled by the fish’s immune system. When stress levels increase, the ability of the immune system to respond to its requirement to control the natural level of parasites is directly affected. This poor response allows parasites to increase in numbers, thus causing any of the serious above mentioned health issues in the host fish.

    MICROBE-LIFT/Herbtana
supports the fish’s immune system, driving off the excess parasites. Since they cannot return to the fish during treatment, the majority of the parasites will starve without a host.

This product is intended for use with all ornamental and aquarium fish only, and may not be used for fish intended for human consumption.

    Directions
Shake thoroughly prior to use. Remove any carbon and/or zeolite from filters. Keep biological filters operational.

    Dosage
Add 1 mL of MICROBE-LIFT/Herbtana per 5 gal. (19 L) daily for 10 days, or add 1 tsp. (5 mL) per 25 gal. (95 L) daily for 10 days. In severe cases, a longer treatment period may be required until visible results are achieved.

    Dosage (New Introduction)
When adding new fish to a quarantine or aquarium tank, alternate adding MICROBE-LIFT/Herbtana and MICROBE-LIFT/ Artemiss™ at the standard dosage 12 hours apart until 2 doses of each product have been added. This will act as an immune system stimulant and destressant.

MICROBE-LIFT/Herbtana is safe for all aquatic life. It is a great aid to use when acclimating fish to a new environment.

MICROBE-LIFT/Herbtana has a shelf life of 2 years, provided it is kept at room temperature and stored in its original bottle. Do not allow to freeze.

    Cautions
    • Do not use with any other medications or treatments
    • Do not use with any algaecides or copper based products
    • Avoid contact with eyes. If contact happens, flush eyes thoroughly with cold water
    • Keep out of reach of children

    MICROBE-LIFT ARTEMISS™

    Shake Well Before Using

    MICROBE-LIFT/Artemiss
is a unique, herbal, immune-enhancing stimulant, which reduces bacterial and fungal infections.

    MICROBE-LIFT/Artemiss
will help boost the natural immune system of the fish with no risk of building up future resistance as can occur when antibiotics are used.

MICROBE-LIFT/Artemiss will help to drive pathogenic bacteria off the fish, and, without
    a host, ultimately the bacteria
    will die.

MICROBE-LIFT/Artemiss stimulates and accelerates regeneration of damaged tissue until no trace of the wound remains.

    Cautions
    • Do not use with any other medications or treatments
    • Do not use with any algaecides or copper based products

This product is intended for use with all ornamental and aquarium fish only, and may not be used for fish intended for human consumption.

    Directions
Shake thoroughly prior to use. Remove any carbon and/or zeolite from filters. Keep biological filters operational.

    Dosage
Add 1 mL of MICROBE-LIFT/Artemiss per 5 gal. (19 L) daily for 10 days, or add 1 tsp. (5 mL) per 25 gal. (95 L) daily for 10 days. In severe cases, a longer treatment period may be required until visible results are achieved.

    Dosage (New Introduction)
When adding new fish to a quarantine or aquarium tank, alternate adding MICROBE-LIFT/Artemiss and MICROBE-LIFT/Herbtana at the standard dosage, 12 hours apart, until 2 doses of each product have been added. This will act as an immune system stimulant and destressant. MICROBE-LIFT/Artemiss is safe for all aquatic life. It is a great aid to use when acclimating fish to a new environment. MICROBE-LIFT/Artemiss has a shelf life of 2 years, provided it is kept at room temperature and stored in its original bottle. Do not allow to freeze.

Use MICROBE-LIFT/Defend to control, prevent and treat disease of aquarium and ornamental pond fish caused by fungi, protozoans, flukes and bacteria.

    MICROBE-LIFT/Defend is a salt-free formulation.

    Ingredients
Water and Formaldehyde (<3%) and Methanol.

Warning: Do not use MICROBE-LIFT/Defend with any other medications or treatments.

This product is intended for use with all ornamental pond and aquarium fish. Not for use with fish or aquatic invertebrates intended for human consumption. This is not a medication or economic poison and is not intended for use as such.

    Purpose
To treat and prevent disease of fish caused by fungus infections (typically, whitish, cottony patches on fish skin and/or fins), and by other external diseases caused by bacteria (mouth “fungus” and fin-and-tail-rot) or protozoans (“ich”).

    Directions
Dose at the rate of one teaspoon (5 mL) for each 10 gallons (38 L) of water, or 1 fl.oz. per 60 gallons (227 L). Prior to the initial use of MICROBE-LIFT/Defend a partial water change, of 25% or more should be made. Carbon filtration must be removed during treatment (CAUTION: Do not stop other filtration!). Dosage may be repeated, following the recommended water change, every 24 hours. MICROBE-LIFT/Defend is best used in a separate quarantine/ treatment (Q/T) tank. If after three treatments, signs of the disease being treated persist, perform a large water change, replace the carbon filtration, and consider using an alternative treatment.

    Cautions & Contraindications
Do not use with permanganate-based treatments. Observe fish closely during the course of the treatment and perform massive water changes, as needed, if signs of severe stress (e.g. rapid respiration, “piping” at the surface) are noted.
