Metronidazole cures which fish diseases.

Carping and I have been battling to find the fish diseases that Metronidazole cures, please can you help us with this info.

I will depart for Europe until 15 June on Saturday, so I can only give you this one reply and then I can only respond after 16 June.

This obviously indicates that flagellate organisms can be treated with metranidazole. Metranidazole can also be used for treament of Ich and Velvet, but not for parasitic worms such as gill flukes, tape worms and capillaria or thread worms.

Many people get confused between parasites and parasitic worms. Flagellates are also parasites, but they are not parasitic worms. So metranidazole can only be used for flagellate organisms but not for parasitic worms. For those your must use medications such as flubendazole or praziquantal.
