Hi
I want to start up a comnuity tank but i have cichlids in my tank at the moment. I dont know what to do with them? I dont want to kill them.
Any ideas?

 

How about taking them to your LFS and seeing whether they will swop them out for fish you want OR posting a trade online for fish you want?

albino cichlid, and a tiger cichlid
blood parrot and a convict fish

 

Blood parrot should be sent back to the manufacturer :>
- the others take back to the LFS and swop them out ..

 

i only found out about the blood parrot after i bought it. i am so ashamed now but she has such a cute personallity

 

I personally hate the theory behind parrot fish, think its so cruel!

i want to give them away but i want them to go to a house that they will be well looked after and i can have updates about them

 

sometimes they inject fish with dye, ie; parrots with flowers or heart tatoos on them or glass fish with pink,green,yellow spines... all very cruel! if ppl want lumo fish why not get those genetiaclly modified danios

 

ouch. that is cruel.

Question for admin. am i allowed to put up pics of the fish so ppl can see it and tell me if they want them on this thread or must i go to the for sale forume. i dont want money for them its just that i dont have the space for a tank big enough for them and i dont want to see them die.

The Blood parrot (also known as bloody parrot and blood parrotfish; no binomial nomenclature) is a hybrid cichlid. The fish was first created in Taiwan in around 1986.[1] Its parentage is unknown, but the most commonly speculated pairings are midas cichlid (Amphilophus citrinellus) with the redhead cichlid (Cichlasoma synspilum), or the severum (Heros severus) with the red devil cichlid (Amphilophus labiatus).[2] Blood parrots should not be confused with other parrot cichlids or salt water Parrotfish (family: Scaridae).[3]
Because this hybrid cichlid has various anatomical deformities, controversy exists over the ethics of creating the Blood Parrot. One of the most obvious, and also deadly, deformities is its mouth, which only has very narrow vertical opening. This makes blood parrot very hard to feed. Many die eventually because of this.
