    Hi Guys

I have been looking fir advice about what would be the best food to feed my Mbuna. I have purchased many different types of food for them and the beat that has made all of them go bananas is the Ocean Nutrition Spurilina Flakes. Do any of you guys have something that I have not yet tried or can suggest anything better?

Nick is right or you might end up with alot of fish with malawi bloat. I was reading last night on how to make your own malawi food containing shrimp, peas, spirulina and a few other things. I'll get the recipe and post it on here tonight. Otherwise I found spirulina flakes work well. My tank also has alot of algae on the rocks and the fish a permanetly eating that.

The book is AD Konings, Back to nature guide on malawi cichlids and the mix suggested is 1kg whole shrimps, 1 kg peas, 10ml spirulina powder, 100 mg gelatin and 10 drops of multi vitimins. He says put the shrimp and peas in a mincer or blender, once that is nicely blended up add your gelatin and vitims to the mix and mix again. Then place in ice trays or rashen it off to how much you want to feed at a time. He also writes that depending on whether you keep more herbivores or piscivores, depends whether you add more shrimp or more peas.

I have personally not tried this but I'm definitly thinking of trying it.
