I need some help regarding some issues i am having at home with the internet. I am getting all kinds of ads popping up all over the place. Sites opening up randomly. Links on random words. I did some research and found ouit that it could be malicious software also known as computer hijacking.

Tried some free anti virus but problem not solved.

This started when I took the family away to the midlands for a weeks holiday recently. So my vrou asked her cousin to come and house sit. This lighty was using the internet and i dont know what sites and stuff he was downloading. Because it started as soon as i got back. The computer was working fine before that.

Did a history check and this ou was looking at some hectic sites : ' Gay Bikers Gang Bang Party' , ' Street Meat on Heat'. Feel like klapping him now.

Any ideas as to solve this spam pop ups and links just appearing and opening?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks.

Hectic, I'd klap him. 100% let him know that you know.

These things can be difficult to get rid of, but by following the advice above, you can do it. A bit time consuming. After all is done, make sure you have decent updated protection running permanently. With that in place, most of this can be avoided.

Agreed. When i had AVG anti virus i had no problems. It lapsed after 1 year subscription and i did not renew it. Now I am paying for it in a bad way.

I find the free version of Avast completely sufficient. Then again I'm married with children, and even though I do own a motorbike, going to sites with 'Street Meat on Heat' is a bit frowned upon in my household. LOL

AVG do a free virus check for personal use that is great. I've not had a virus or malware problem for years.

I upvote giving the lighty a PK.

Hey, ...don't give us bikers a bad name. I got 9 bikes (from small to about 1600cc)
I guess I was too busy enjoying riding them around to keep up with the times ... and there I was thinking that 'Street meat on heat' was the boerewors or burger on the braai which I buy from the street corner vendor. Hahaha
Never too old to learn new tricks. :)

Anyhow, good luck, ...you should be alright by following the advice received here.

SEACHEM CLARITY is the way to go I reckon, just soak your laptop overnight in a tub of it and in the morning it WILL be crystal clear. lol lol lol
This is purely advice from a mad fish-person - I would not take my own advice though !!!
As the guys said above - way to go

    You are lucky

The route I take most clients on is total system redo (reload the OS and software)
But then again, most systems getting to my table are infected with cracking tools and other illegal software. Or in case of the Mac users, the system went to the iStore and needed some TLC after the Apple techs had their way with the systems...
