I would say Male - See the high black tip on the dorsal fin and lack of blue spots in the black stripe/patch behind the eye.

thanx @Hawk, i had to remove this one from the other tank as there was serious fighting between him assuming he's a male and the other male. i was just worried that i actually removed a female and killed any chances of pairing.

Do they have suitable hiding places/obstructions for line of site aggression?

i built a moss cave and added a big structure in the tank but every now and then they find each other and the other male is much healthier than this one. they fight for a bit then its calm again.

They are/were in your 700l? I would have thought it would be fine. I think you have done the best thing for now. Just swap the two males around if nothing happens soon on the pairing/breeding front. The healthy male might not be your females cup of tea.

i couldn't put them in my 700L, a bit worried about other fish harrasing them, they currently in my 3 foot, maybe it a bit small for them. i should maybe move them to my work's 4 foot.

3ft - 100l? Should be cool for a pair. I was told to keep them in about 70l. Move the other 2 once everybody has paired up. And I see you have a willing taker for the others  . Although I'm sure you would probably sooner sell your mother-in-law or your kids (if you have any) :blink1:
