About 2 months ago I bought 6 Malaysian (Read: antibiotic) bread Rams, of which 2 kicked the bucket not even 3 days after arriving and another about a week after, leaving me with 3 which seemed to be living it up in the 160lt community tank.

This past Sunday, I took a trip out into the lovely Reibeeck West valley and visited a LFS on the way back home, collecting 5 beautiful German bread Rams.

Last night while watching the tank, I noticed that a pair has formed and they are merrily cleaning a spot on the drift wood and doing their little vibrator dance for each other.

Here are some pics of the 2, please excuse the horrid phone camera pics.

My experience with the antibiotic strain is that once losses have ocured and they settle in - they are o.k... it's just that initial adaptation phase that nails them while they get used to the "nunu's" in your tank and don't have the "backup" of antibio's in the water...

As for spawning with a robust German...probably a good thing - willo be 2 very diiferent clones in the parents... Should lead to nice healthy fry...

Excellent, I look forward to what these 2 have in store :)

The difference in colouring between the Malaysian and the German rams is astounding though, they almost look like completely different fish. The German bread males that I have are huge compared to the others.
