This is pretty easy and cheap to make the healing properties of garlic has been known for some time, it also promotes healthy immune system and helps with the picky eaters. It is simple and cheap to make you will need the following:

    x3 Garlic Bulbs
X3 Cofee Filters (Millage May Vary)
    500 mills of boiling water
    X1 500mil bottle

The first step, remove all the cloves and clean them up once done wash under running water. Then dice them into as small as possible pieces until chopped fine. Add the boiling water and leave for a couple of hours and stir it every now and then. Once you let it sit for a couple of hours use the coffee filter to strain the mix into your 500mil bottle, keep in the fridge and let it cool.

Once ready you add 2 drops for every 4 liters of aquarium water.

Been using this as a remedy and heal all for years with creat success especially in tanks with critters that are sensitive to medications.

Very interesting. I am using Organic Aqua fish care. I add a 5 ml scoop every time I do a WC. No issues so far. However this looks interesting and probably does the same job

Charl, how often should I dose?
And is there a danger in overdosing?

Once a day and unless you throw in 10 liters a day there's zero chance of overdosing.

Is it once a day for the treatment period or for ever?

Looks alright but by constantly adding doses of medication eventually resistant strains pop up and cause chaos for the hobby, such as antibiotic resistant fish TB and so on.

Medication should only be used when symptoms are seen or you have to treat wild fish for worms or any other near guaranteed conditions that wild or captive fish may have. Otherwise you're shooting at an enemy that might not be there.

This is a good idea, but please be cautious with overuse of medication or compounds like garlic.

On a side note: tannins are a great way to prime the immune system of fish from naturally acidic waters, or blackwater. Rooibos tea, alder cones and similar botanicals that stain the water are ideal as they kick the immune system rather than act as a medication for a specific condition.

Just my 2c. Make of it what you will.

I treat my tank every day, done it for years, and no issues. Tank might smell faint of garlic but fish hare happy and extremely healthy.

I've image proof of the results of this mixture. I've had terrible sunken belly issues (bought fish sick on purpose) used this and only this. Medicated food with this and all hail the magic worked.

That's amazing! You only used the garlic? How long did the treatment take for you to see improvement?

Okay so to my benefit they were still eating, just not very active at all. I dosed the tank with weekly water changes and fed them only medicated food daily for a month. Results were seen within the first 3 days, by the end of the first week both of them had full bellies. By the end of the first month it took 1 week for the S.fryeri (the blue fish) to start colouring up, he did so and became the tank boss. In this time the other fish started growing rapidly.

If you've not been able to see my thread, just to let you know I'm not anywhere close to getting meds for the fish so I had to try a natural cure, I am certain that I would never look to that again unless it's something that I cannot find a natural cure for.

    Thanks Shabir.

I also live out in the sticks, so something natural, that I can make myself, is very desirable.

You mentioned medicated food, please tell me more?
