Like the title states... Madagascar Rainbowfish...

Any info on how they live, eat, attack other fish as well as their requirements???

I saw them in the LFS and they told me that they are African Jewels but that is not right.

    Any ideas?

    Anyone keeping them?

I have a few in my tank.
From my research, they get quite big. Up to 15cm

Nothing to add other standard fish care. Good clean water. Varied diet (flake, crumb, brine shrimp etc)

The standard species we see around here is Bedotia gayei...although there are quite a few more species from Madagascar... Never had mine grow to 15cm though - females maxed out at just under 10cm in my 8 foot tank... Active, occupying the top third of a tank - easy to spawn.... Wouldnt keep less than a shoal of 5-6 in minimum a 2 footer, preferably a 3 foot

Being from Madagascar, I'd imagine they are threatened :(? Good thing they're easy to spawn.
