    Hi All

i have had a problem with my tank for three weeks now.
i started treatment with Myxazin when i noticed my cardinals had pop eye and their fins did not look normal.
I followed the directions on the bottle, and treated for five days as recommended, i removed my carbon media from the tank.
By the fifth day the tank had turned green and then lumo green.
After the five days i did a 50% RO water change and added replenish, this did help till the next morning when it was back to green.
My lps advised me to put in a basic box filter that uses air to circulate, and filled this with carbon, this too has not helped.
My water has been tested by two lps and no one can tell me whats wrong or what to do.

    Please i need help desperately.

    My tank is a 3ft
    Aquaclear 20
    Elite 200w heater
    Odyssea dual pro T5

    8 X Neons
    8 X Cardinals
    8 x Silver tip tetras
    8 x Blue emporer tetras
    2 x Pepper corys
    2 x Bronze corys
    1 Siamese algae eater

    3 pieces of driftwood
    10 Various plants

I just dont know what else to try as nothing is helping.

Think your filtration might not be enough for the tank size.

your filter is small for that tank. you have greenwater algae there. uv filter is the best way to get rid of it. otherwise tetra has algae min for ponds. its specifically made or gree water algae. it binds with the greenwater and then itcsinks to the bottom. use a gtavel vac to suck it up. or else daphina eats it also

That is a horrible case of an algae bloom. How long is your lighting on for? Also is this tank indirect sunlight at anytime? Also do you know what your nitrate, phosphate or ammonia reading was as that can contribute they were high. Water changes will not help in this situation.

Hi all, my lighting is on for 12 hours a day on a timer switch.
I got a product from a diffrent lps called Microbe-lift Algaway 5.4, I have now put this in the tank, now its time to wait and see.
I have checked my water frequently both at home and at the lps, and all is ok.

I think the carbon must have been filtering out something that the algae likes. Maybe some sort of phosphate compounds?
Have you put it back into your filter?

I think you lighting needs to be on less. I have a 1.5m with the same lighting and if the lights are on for more than 7 hours a day I start seeing algae growth.
