Ludwigia Repens

Hallo!

I'm still very new to all the lovely aquatic plants and I'm amazed at the different coloration that can come from one plant.

Below is a photo of repens in one of my tanks. Do they make flowers or is that (the red right at the tip) the beginning of a new and much more intenser colour?

 

the red colour is coming from the plants leaves. its either because its closer to the light now so light intensity is making it red or it can come from adding enough ferts. OR if your nitrates are limiting it can go red too but this is not a good thing.

signs of nitrate deficiency are: smaller leaves on new growth as well as yellowing old leaves

It is getting high intensity light. Would be interesting to see how it compares to the one in my other tank that does not have the same intense light.

Will keep an eye on it.
