Yeah ... it is a weed, like most of our plants, can't say I have seen Marsilea Crenata in SA ... just that river in PIA.

    I currently have 5 species:

M hirsuta and M crenata bought as tissue cultured plants
M quadrifolia - most garden centres sell this as a marginal pond plant
M drummondii and M vestita - grown from sporocarps. Quite an interesting procedure.

They are rather special .. and they are destroyed in hours after opening ...

Does not help that it is advertising itself as an ice ream cone.

One must actually cut the petals open if they want a chance at self fertilising the flowers..

Really nice. What plant is that?

It's one of those things that you have to appreciate with patience or miss the opportunity altogether...

@AmithS bucephalandra - first time I saw them was 2012 .... was many years later that I could actually get some in my tanks.

The demossing was actually harder than I expected ... you pull one strand and everything wants to lift. Just when you think you are done you see more when you put the light back up

Could probably do this for another hour and still not get all of it, so this will have to do.

First was a cut back on the shelf ... found some 3ft LED tubes - these are 4000K clear - wanted the 6000k but only had that in frosted, waiting for the clear on those.

These are the only 3 I moved intentionally, since they got knocked down by the BN's, not sure they will stay this time round.

Quick question Ferdie. In the 3rd and 4th picture there is a plant growing by the heater. 1 leave is clearly visible above the heater. Is that a fern?

Think it is Microsorum sp. "Mini Coral" - not doing that great in my tanks ... pushes two new leaves then dies back ...

Yeah that is the nice thing about guppies ... they have a way of staying busy and keep the tank busy.

You are correct - considering I crashed the tank beginning March and had a massive die out of live stock ... https://www.tropicalaquarium.co.za/threads/lucky-13.1189/page-22#post-384168

The Guppies now are off spring from the survivors.

Only things I added if memory serves is snails and 5 shrimp as part of the cleaning crew - everything else is survivor offspring.

After reading listing and reading a bit more ... I am going to try the siesta idea on lights again - this time with a longer pause with the lights.

This affects all the tanks since I have configured all controllers to this now.
