    Hi guys.

Wanted to know what products do you use to lower your ph. I know of seachem discus buffer but over time, this will become expensive if you are doing big water changes on a discus tank. It's a really good product to use.

Is there other ways to safely lower ph and keep it stable?

Use a mixture of tap water and RO water. 1/3 RO and 2/3 Tap water. Depending on the conditions of the water coming out the tap.

I have had some success with peat pillows, the peat will release tannic acids into the water lowering the pH

How stable is this as new water will have to be treated first.

its not going to be as stable as using a buffer, such as the microb-lift products, nor is it as precise, but in general it has worked well for me with fish that are not too sensitive to ph
