Good afternoon to all. My name is Quin. I would say that I am fairly new but that would be a lie. Been keeping a little 80l tank with a few misfits for about 2 years and a little 120l shrimp tank that will one day be the reason for my loss of sanity. Nothing to the point of self sustaining bred population.

Quite recently had a bit of a luck buy of a 900 x 750 x 550 tank which I thought a bargain @ R200. After about a weeks run around building a stand and a bio filter, deciding on planting and decoration etc I've sort of come to the conclusion that n have miles to go before creating something fully planted and carpeted. So with my 2 apple snails, 1 molly x breed and a neon tetra (edit forgot the cory) we start this journey slow and steady.

I am still quite undecided when it comes to what livestock to add to this massive new water scape. So in my search for all things aquatic I found the FB group which lead me here. I'm by no means a veteran i am simply not not new.

Hi my name is Quin and I fear the addiction might take me soon.

Welcome the TASA .... may your hands always be wet while your feet are dry.

Your R200 sounds like a winner - post some pictures, and you will get way more responses.

Do not get hung-up on planning too much - just get started with the planting and growing. Livestock - different story- here you need to consider they will make or break your ecosystem and for some fish you are talking a 10 - 15 year care taking responsibility.

    Welcome @Quin

Yes post pics please! Of the shrimp tank also, what kind of shrimp do you keep?

The big tank indeed sounds like a bargain. Is it 90 long, 75 wide and 55 high? Very exciting.
