I have a Juwel rekord 800 which I later found out was an imported tank, I need to replace my t8 lights and can't get them locally(tried everywhere). I found the correct lights t8 590mm 18w on seapets.co.uk but they will not ship to sa. So I was hoping to send to a UK member who could forward it on to me.

    Help would be much appreciated

Also heard an ad for aramex the other day, where they give you a local shipping address to have goods delivered to, and then forward it on to you at an additional cost. I don't know how cost effective it is.

To my knowledge all tubes of several brands and hardware shops will fit in Juwel lids (if T8). Only using the hardware ones in my Juwel 60 tanks

Will it not be easier to adjust/ change your light fitting to accommodate localy available lights, perhaps change to LED?

Search the site, I use t5's myself, but I know some members have posted good results with LED strips from China mall type outlets. Anubias and Java's don't need tons of light, and are pretty resilient.

Would this not be an easier option long term?

The lights will be about £15 (guestimate).
To courier ( I wouldn't bother with standard mail) to you is going to be at least £60 and I wouldn't want to guarantee that they will get to you in 1 piece.
So for R1,500 at today's exchange rate is not really worth it

Yeah I figured out its not worth it and have ordered some led lights from Aqua shine and should have them by Friday, hopefully it all goes well. Thanks for everyone's input. R350 vs a grand is a big saving, hope my plants still flourish.
