Was wondering if any of the guys or gals have seen some dwarf cichlids at a LFS in the Jhb or Pta area. What I am after are the more uncommon species, and not Ramirezi.

I and a friend of mine breed South American Dwarfs. I have spawns of Sunburst Cockatoos, Double Red Cockatoos and Apistogramma Viejita at the moment. Just growing them out a bit. I also have some Apistogramma Hongsloi which I'm hoping will pair up soon.

What are you looking for specifically?

    Good group to focus on

    Like I said .....
    Not TOO many around
    NOT TOO easy to breed
NOT TOO big, so easily accommodated

NOT COMMONLY FOUND..THAT part alone is challenging, and FUN to FIND some!

    Contact slagter:p
(Also Eskimo and veegal/zafgak have bred some Apistogramma pairs they got from me. Dunno if they raised any fry? )

also keep your eyes out for some nice stuff every month or so, as time, space (AND BUDGET) allows

check in on TheWaterZoo, in the Sponsors Forum, or drop me a pm for whatever species you'd be serious 'bout getting

Don't forget the high:blink1: quality , locally bred fish also now reaching marketable size.

The problems are mostly overcome if you start with awesome fish from a great source:bigsmile:

Altum - the Apisto's are looking GREAT - the spawn did not get past egg stage and were eaten - we are separating the pairs so should have some Apisto's soon...
