Looking for some Electric Blue or Powder Blue Rams. (Cape Town)

Looking for some local (Cape Town) rams, Electric Blue or Powder Blue. Have recently got a "pair" of small German Blues. Absolutely digg these little fellas!! The "male" and "female" I got, chanced each other for a couple days but seems to have settled in now. Still not one hundred percent sure they are male and female. Can anybody advise, or will they need to grow bit bigger? Got a 200lt tank with decent plants and structure , will the different ram species bother each other?

The fish in those pictures are both males.Electric blue and powder blue rams are not different species,but a colour mutation of the same fish.So yes,they will get along.If you manage to find someone in cape town with locally bred rams please let me know,as i'm keen to get some as well.Thanks!

As phish_man said try Dirk. He has some rams he took from me last year. Im not sure which he still has available but Im sure he has some.
I have about 400 x 7 week old Powder blues. Still gotta grow em out a bit so they are not ready for another 5 weeks at least.
The main difference between Powder blue and Electric blue rams is the base colour. In Powder blue it is yellow, and more of an olive green in the electric blue. Also black pigment is absent in the Powder blues but in Electric blue not.
As TheEel said though - its the same fish species and will breed with each other.

It would be more worthwhile to get a few people together and do a bigger order.

@TheEel. Thanks for the exsplenstion. I know of a lfs that got some normal german blues ( same as mine ) about a week ago. They also had some golden ones. Will pm you.

 

Thanks for the feedback @Marco. Have followed your feed on your Powder blues, and they are beyond cool looking!! If in a couple weeks I have not come right with getting them then maybe we should find out if a couple Capetonians want to club together to order a decent order from you, instead of just one pair at a time. This is if you have some left. :relaxed:

I don`t have Rams....yet.............that`s why I am asking Marco to choose me considering he said he had like 400 + fry hahahahahahahaha.
