    I currently have an internal 3stage filter, that is sadly no longer coping so well in my community tank.

    You have lots of options - Eheim, Tetratec, Dophin, and so on...

    Granted, Eheim is rather pricey so keep an eye on the classifieds for 2nd hand ones if you're on a restricted budget. I'll be honest with you about the Tetratec canister filter - mine gets dirty very quickly. I've been advised to attach a sponge to the intake filter so that I don't have to clean it out so often and get away with it for up to 6 months.

    Just a note

    If a filter gets dirty ,then it means it working well mechanically
