Aquarium Expo will be featured in all of The Home Expo advertising this year...

It's a bit early still. I think the first big thing going out will be 10000 flyers at the Kids and Baby Expo coming up in 2 weeks.

These magazines will have a combo of front page ads, diary listings, editorials and website advertising:
    - SA Garden and Home
    - Essentials
    - Rooi Rose
    - Your Family
    - Woman & Home
    - Living & Loving
    - People

    And these sites:
    Garden and Home
Joburg.co.za - The Number 1 Internet site for Johannesburg
    The Home Expo

There will also be LCD's showing ads at CNA stores:
OR Tambo, CPT International, Alberton City, Kollonade, Woodlands, Bedford Centre, Westgate, Maponya Mall, Waterfall Mall, La Lucia, Somerset Mall

Full colour ads in these newspapers in may:
Fourways Review, Krugersdorp News, Midrand Reporter, Northcliff / Melville Times, North Easten Tribune, Northside Chronicle, Randburg Sun, Roodepoort Record, Rosebank / Killarney Gazette, Sandton Chronicle, Alberton Record, Bedfordview Edenvale News, Benoni City Times, Boksburg Advertiser, Germiston City News, Kempton Express, Southern Courier, Springs & Brakpan Advertiser

The Citizen newspaper will have 6 big ads in April and May.

Highveld Stereo will be advertising heavily closer to the event.

Those fixed AdReach "posters" at all the major intersections in JHB.

Another 8000 posters on street light poles.

80 000 various flyers going out.

Aquarium Expo will also be in The Home Expo newsletter and advertised by Emperors Palace on their website, "News of the Empire" and "Livia" mail to club members.

It most certainly looks like it.

What is going to be done about that? anybody?

55 days to go and we don't have any speakers lined up? or do we?

I honestly don't think it is a case of neglect but one of lack of effort and application. Hopefully i am wrong and some action is imminent very soon.

True but why include TASA in the whole thing then if you are only going to target marine guys?

Why arent the sponsors getting involved? At the end of the day we are trying to grow the Aquarium hobby and get new people off to the right start arent we?

seems like the saltwater guys have thier own members giving all kinds of talks. Everything snails to basic filtration for salt is covered. Think of the knowledge we can share if our own freshwater experts give talks!

@Singularity you would not like to listen to a talk about keeping FW plants, FW breeding or FW filtration? maybe see if a supplier has LED lighting for a FW planted Tank?

No People talk bud. It looks like an opportunity is at hand that is about to be squandered. But we don't know because we are not informed and announcement's are few.

Just wondering what is being done by us to make this attractive for us to attend. Surely a speaker is prepared to talk on the hobby without monetary interests for the aquariust. Or is their an agenda i am missing.

MASA has an older audience then TASA. Only the old ballies that has high paying jobs go marine :)

Us normal folks stick to FW.

There is only a hand full of people around that I think can give a specialized talk about some issues like the technical issues behind a proper planted tank, aquascaping, breeding, feeding, discus etc.

O and all of them live in Cape Town :p

I know just about enough to help myself and some noobs.

I did however build a LED unit for planted tank so maybe I should go and have a one tank show :)
